20 pavilions showcasing culture in Regina this week

The festival of cultures, Mosaic, is underway in Regina this week.

The festival of cultures, Mosaic, is underway in Regina this week.

The festival, which started Thursday and runs until Saturday, features 20 pavilions showcasing the food, drink and art of variouscultures. Pavilions are spread across the city.

"I think it provides a performance [like] basically no other," said Sasha Lapchuk of the Poltava Ukrainian pavilion.

The pavilion is located at the Regina Performing Arts Centre, which Lapchuk said provides a cozy environment for the dancing and music showcased within it.

As far as food goes, Lapchuk said perogies have been in preparation since February.

"We have, over the years, many people that have come over or come back to the pavilion over and over again to see different shows," Lapchuk said.

"That's one of the most rewarding things."

The family-friendly festival wraps up Saturday. More information can be found online.
