Mother of Haven Dubois demands answers from police in wake of boy's death

Richelle Dubois slept outside to try and prompt police to meet with her about her 14-year-old son's death.

A Reginamotherwhose14-year-old son drowned last year,spent the nightoutside the Regina Police Service building on Monday.

RichelleDubois is demanding answers in the death of her son, Haven Dubois, but so far has not been granted the meeting she wants.

"I'm waiting for a meeting and a police report. I was told Monday that they would meet with me next week, when they were actually supposed to give me a response last week," saidDubois.

"I've been doing a lot of waiting and I'm sitting at home waiting, I'm going to sit out here and wait because that's all I'm doing. I'm getting really tired of waiting," said Dubois.

Her son's bodywas found in a ditch in the east end of Regina last May.

According to acoroner's report, Haven's death was the result of drowning. The report also showed that he had traces of marijuana in his body when he died.

Police have ruled out foul play, but Duboisstill has questions.

"Ineed answers," Dubois said, "we need to know what happened to him."

Duboissaid she intends to stay outside the police station, sleeping in her minivan, until her questions are answered.
