'My Life Matters' walk held in Regina

About 80 people walked down Albert Street in Regina Saturday carrying signs that read "My Life Matters".

The walk was organized by Richelle Dubois, whose 14-year-old son Haven died in May. His body was discovered in a creek and while police ruled out foul play, Dubois is still waiting for a coroners' report.

Dubois saidthe walk was intended as a remembrance for her son and others.

She also wants to protect young people from bad influences.

"We do plan on eventually making a video and going out to the schools," Dubois said. "We would like to start making a youth survival guide to help the youth to know where the different resources are that they can go to for help if they need it."

The walk ended in front of Regina's city hall where some participants told stories of loved ones who have died.

"I wanted any other families who are going through similar things to know that we're here," Dubois said. "That there's other people out here grieving for the loss of our children."
