Regina man dead after suspected home invasion

The Regina Police Service is investigating the city's second homicide of the year.

Paramedics arrived but 46-year-old man died from his injuries

The Regina Police Service is investigating the city's second homicide of the year.

On May 14, just before 8 p.m., police were dispatched to a duplex at147412th Avenue for areport of an assault.

Someone had reportedly entered the home and assaulted a resident with a weapon, then left the scene, according to police.

The coroner, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units investigated the homicide. (CBC)

When officers arrived, they found an injured and unresponsive man. Paramedics arrived but the man died fromhis injuries.

Police secured the scene and called for the coroner, as well as the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units.

The victim has been identified as a 46-year-old Regina man. His next-of-kin are still being notified at this time.
