Police still searching for missing girl

The largest investigation in the history of the Regina Police Service is still going strong, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) heard Thursday.

Regina police told chiefs and delegates at the FSIN fall assembly in Swift Current that they are still putting a lot of effort into the search for Tamra Keepness.

According to Inspector Ken Black, police have investigated more than 1,400 tips since the Regina girl disappeared in July.

"There are nine full-time investigators and a supervisor and a support person that are all working full time on this investigation," said Black. "We've done formal interviews and interrogations of 478 people in regard to this case."

Black said police have spoken to thousands more on an informal basis, but they haven't found a trace of the missing girl.

"It's very frustrating for all of us, as I'm sure for all of you, that we have not been able to find Tamra," Black told the assembly.

He said police will not stop looking until they find the girl.
