What cabinet position will Ralph Goodale get?

When people talk about possible cabinet members from Saskatchewan, it tends to be a short conversation.

Veteran Liberal MP, former finance minister, expected to land plum position

Liberal Ralph Goodale was celebrating Oct. 19 after winning his riding in Regina-Wascana. It's expected he'll land a cabinet post this morning.

When people talk about possible cabinet members from Saskatchewan, it tends to be a short conversation.

Ralph Goodale is the lone Liberal MP in the province and because regional representation is important, many pundits say he's a shoe-in for a post in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's first cabinet.

Goodale has extensive cabinet experience in previous Liberal governments, with agriculture, natural resources, public works and finance among his portfolios.

There's been speculation he could return to one of those positions, but also some who say he could be selected to be deputy prime minister and house leader.

The speculation ends starting at 9:30 a.m. CST when cabinet is sworn in at Rideau Hall.
