Ralph Goodale to attend U.S. state dinner, meet with counterpart over border security
Public safety minister joins Justin Trudeau, delegates for official White House visit
Regina MP and Public Safety Minister RalphGoodaleis in Washington D.C. today, along with Justin Trudeau, as he and a delegation of federal officials meet their U.S. counterparts.
Along with attending the U.S. state dinner hosted by President Obama and Michelle Obamaat 7 p.m. ET, Goodaleis scheduled for a luncheon with Secretary of StateJohn Kerry and a meeting with Secretary ofHomeland SecurityJeh Johnson.
According to a spokesperson in Goodale's office, the meeting withJohnson is where the two will work on the details of strengthening border security between thetwo countries.
On Thursday morning, Goodale tweeted out some details about his trip to the Capitol.
