RCMP find body of missing Danielle Nyland near Shellbrook

A twelve-day search for missing woman, Danielle Nyland, concluded Friday night when her body was found near Shellbrook.

Nyland was last seen the morning of June 8

A twelve-daysearch for missing woman Danielle Nyland concluded Friday night, when RCMP found her body southeast of Shellbrook, Sask.

Officers say her body was found just 500 metres south of where they firstlocated her cell phone, close to the small village ofHolbein.

Earlier in the day Friday,RCMPsaidofficershad received tips from the public regardingNylandandasked for anyone with more information to come forward.

Uncle: 'She was a wonderful person'

It was not the outcome family members were hoping for.

Nyland's uncle, Peter Nyland, has been searching non-stop since her disappearance,working RCMP.

"I'm happy that the RCMP was out there and found her," he said. "We searched for days and no sign of her. I know, we would have rather found her alive."

On Wednesday, the family was told they were close to finding her.

Now, Peter Nyland said the family is trying to come to terms with the loss. He spoke to CBC on Saturday morning and said he was driving to the location where his niece's remains were found, to place flowers at the site.

"She was a wonderful person, you know," he said. "You just look on her Facebook and see theamount of people who had wished her well, hoping for a better outcome to all of this."

An autopsy on Nyland's remains will begin on Monday.

RCMPencourage anyone with information to come forward by calling them or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Shellbrook is about 150 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
