RCMP putting on 2 musical ride shows in Regina this week for Canada's 150th

The RCMP's lauded musical ride will roll into the Brandt Centre in Regina for two shows Tuesday and Wednesday as part of Canada 150 celebrations.

The RCMP is kicking off its 2017 national musical ride tour in Regina as part celebrations for Canada 150.

Two shows, titled Tattoo Royale,will be held Tuesday and Wednesday evening at the Brandt Centre. They will feature150 performers, including military drill display teams, police officers and musicians.

There will be nearly 50 horsespresent and performing in the shows.

During the two days, there will be a meet-and-greet with RCMP riders and horses from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. CSTat the west entrance of the Brandt Centre.

The name Tattoo Royaleis a Dutch reference dating back to the 17th century.

It was spawned from the phrasedoe den tap toe,which is when drummers would march through the streets and signal innkeepers near military posts to stop serving soldiers so they could head back to barracks, according to an RCMPnews release.

Tickets for the shows are $20. Children under two and not occupying a seat will be granted free entry.
