2 Regina men charged in attempted murder of boy

A 14-year-old boy is still recovering in a Regina hospital from an assault last week, while two suspects are now in custody.

Two Regina men arecharged with attempted murder after a "serious, sustained physical assault" on a 14-year-old-boy last week.

The men, 27 and 17, will make their first appearances in court today, said police in a news release.

Officers were called to a house on the 1100 block of Cameron Street at about 1 p.m. CST on Wednesday, May 11. Inside the house, they discovered the boy who was seriously injured.

"The victim was transported to hospital and remains there for medical care," said Elizabeth Popowich with Regina Police.

Police arrested the 27-year-old suspect on Saturday;his teen co-accused was arrested the next day.

The incident is still under investigation. Police did not comment on a possible motive or the nature of the victim's injuries..
