Regina boy, 9, with brain tumour has bike stolen

Marcus Haywahejust wants his bike back.

The 9-year-old has been battling a brain tumour, and returned home with his family Tuesday to find it had been stolen.

A tire is all that'sleft, the boy's mom Megan Haywahetold CBC'sBlueSkyWednesday afternoon.

She said the bike was a form of freedom for Marcus as he goes through his treatments for his tumour.

"He's been sick and now he finally wanted to learn and so we bought him one, with training wheels, of course," Haywahe said. "He was so proud and so happy that he was able to ride a bike like all the other kids that he sees in the neighbourhood."

Haywahe said despite his missing bike, her son is in good spirits. He told her he hopes that whoever took his bike needed it more than he did.

They've also received several offers from strangers to buy Marcus a new bike.

"He says, you know, 'Wow!I didn't know so much people cared," she said.
