Regina couple now face murder charges in death of girl, 4

Justice officials have stepped in to lay a more serious charge of second-degree murder in the death of a four-year-old girl in 2012.

A Regina couple, Tammy and Kevin Goforth, were previously charged with manslaughter in the death of June Alexis Dawn Goforth. The child died in hospital Aug. 2, 2012, of injuries that police said suggested she had been neglected and abused.

The Goforths are not the girl's parents, but they were her caregivers.

June and her sister were both hospitalized with signs of abuse. June later died.

The couple also face charges of unlawfully causing bodily harm tothe second child.
