Woman found dead Friday in Regina's 4th homicide of the year

Following thedeath of a woman whose body was discovered at a King Street home on Friday night, Regina Police Service have charged a 39-year-old man with second-degree murder.

Following thedeath of a woman whose body was discovered at a King Street home on Friday night, Regina Police Service have charged a 39-year-old man with second-degree murder.

This is Regina's fourth homicide of 2024.

Police and paramedics were called to a home nearon the 1000 block of King Street, near Fourth Avenue, around 10 p.m. Friday, according to a news release issued Sunday.

The paramedics alerted police that aman was inside the home and then officersarrested him. The manwas sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries that police say happened before they arrived.

Police say they found the woman, next who was unresponsive and EMS declared her dead at the scene.

The woman's death was ruled a homicide after an investigation and police charged the 39-year-old man.

His first court appearance is at Provincial Court on Monday morning.
