Brent Parker, the president of the Regina Pats hockey team has resigned.

Parker announced he was leaving the Western Hockey League team Tuesday at a press conference in Regina.

It comes days after it was learned the team's head coach, Pat Conacher,is alsoleaving.

Parker has been with the club since his family purchased the team in the 90s. He said hedecided it wastime for a new chapter in his life and he would nolonger have any involvement with the club.

"It wasn't just a job," Parker said. "It was something that I really had a passion for and enjoyed. But the fun had left."

Current general manager, Chad Lang, will assume additional duties and become asenior vice president in the organization.

Team owner Russ Parker said Tuesdayhe expect is will feel different not having his son involved in theclub.

He added thatwhile he cannotown the Pats forever, he has no plans to sell.

"We still love junior hockey," the senior Parker said. "So let's carry on and see how it goes."
