Police investigating after woman's body found in Regina home

The Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating the death of a woman after police found her body on Friday night.

Regina police have launchedan investigation into the death of a woman whose body was discovered at a King Street home on Friday night.

Police and paramedics were called to a home nearon the 1000 block of King Street, near Fourth Avenue, around 10 p.m.,where they found the woman dead, the Regina Police Service said in a Saturday news release.

Police did not identify the woman in the release, but said her next of kin have been notified.

Police called in major crime and forensic identification units after finding the woman's body, and are also working with the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service.

There are no more details at this point, police said,as the investigation is in the early stages.
