World War II veterans gathered at the provinciallegislature on Tuesday for the premiere of a video series documenting a special part of Saskatchewanand Canadian history.

Stories of Courage: Saskatchewan Second World War Veterans Rememberfeatures 17 veterans from the province who served during the war.

The project is intended to preserve the province's military heritage, before those who participated in the war are gone.

"Now they're dying at the rate of close to a hundred a day, so another threeor fouryears you won't have this opportunity to capture some of the experiences that they had," said 92-year-old veteranReg Harrison.

John Malani, 94, is one of the veterans featured in the series.

"The military history of Canada is an important part of the history and they're going toteach history. They must include it. It's that simple," he said.

The series will be broadcast on City Saskatchewan, the province's educational broadcaster. It willalso be used as educational material in schools.
