Rider fans ponder future as dreadful 2015 season winds down

Fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders are looking to the future as a dismal 2015 season winds down.

The team lost another game on Saturday, bringing them to a 2-14 win-loss record with two games left to play.

Still, thousands of Rider fans arrived for the contest and were optimistic about the future.

Lorne Dycer and his family showed up for the game. Dycer says he's not expecting a long road back to respectability for the club.

"I don't think they're going to do a lot better next year," Dycer said. "I think it's gonna take 'em two years to get their team back together and I think in two years they'll be ... going for the cup."

A veteran sports writer, Edmonton Sun columnist Terry Jones, agrees the Riders will not be down for long.

"They remind me very much of a team from Edmonton two years ago that was 4 and 14," Jones said. "You knew they weren't as bad as their record."

Saturday's contest was the last home game for the hapless club. Their final games are in Calgary next Saturday and onNov. 8in Montreal.
