The business has been in the neighbourhood since 1965 and serves as a destination for locals gathering for coffee or looking for an affordable place to grab lunch. The convenience store is one of the few places left in the city where you can rent movies, something owner Dave Ramnaraine said his older customers appreciate.

Ramnaraine's family are the fourth owners and they've run the business for the last two decades, living above the store for half that time.

Ramnairaine said the store fills an important gap in the neighbourhood. It's one of the only places to get any groceries these day.

The business has become a family affair. Dave, his wifeand eldest daughter all work at the cafe and he saidsome of the staff have been there a long time and have become family too.

He said he's seen the neighbourhood change over the last twenty years.

"It's still a family neighbourhood but it's more younger families," said Ramnairaine.
