Roughriders sign former Calgary defensive back Buddy Jackson

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added another former Calgary defensive back on Tuesday.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added another former Calgary defensive back on Tuesday.

The Riders announced they signed Buddy Jackson, just two days after acquiring his former teammate and fellow defensive back Brandon McDonald.

Jackson originally joined the Stampeders in 2013, but spent the season on the team's practice roster.

The 27-year-old played a much bigger role in the next two seasons, racking up 68 tackles in 18 games for Calgary. Jackson was also a member of Calgary's 2014 Grey Cup championship squad.

After he was released by Calgaryin November, Jackson joined the NFL's Dallas Cowboys in December. He remained with the Cowboys until he was released in May.

Jackson spent time with several NFL teams from 2012 to 2013 before coming to the CFL.
