The good ol' days: Roughriders fans celebrate 2013 Grey Cup anniversary

Two years ago today, 44,710 people most of them in Green and White bundled up and witnessed history at Taylor Field.

Two years ago today, countless unforgettable memories were made for fans in Green and White.

Some will remember braving the cold, but being too excited to even consider frostbite.

There was Geroy Simon's first career touchdown in a Grey Cup. And,oddly enough, it came wearing Saskatchewan green not B.C. Lions orange.

There was Geroy Simon's second career touchdown in a Grey Cup a beautiful catch and sideline tippy-toe sprint into the endzone.

There was Weston Dressler's incredible one-handed touchdown grab while being interfered with by a Hamilton defender.

There was Kory Sheets's record-breaking, 197-yard MVP performance his last game with the Riders.

There was the enormous roar of tens of thousands of people as a football floated over the head of a rattled Henry Burris.

And, most important, there are the burning images now framed and hung on many Saskatchewan walls of Darian Durant hoisting the Grey Cup inside Mosaic Stadium, or Taylor Field if you prefer.

Nov. 24, 2013 was more than just a special day for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. It was more than just a game. It was history.

It's safe to say a month and a day later, the majority of Christmas trees in Saskatchewan had something 'Roughriders' or 'Grey Cup Champions' under it.

The team's slogan that year was "All In". And the team made a lot of sacrifices to ensure a championship for their fans. After two consecutive losing, and often, agonizing seasons, many Riders fans still say the sacrifices were worth the celebration.

Here are some of the memories:
