Saskatchewan-made film competing for million-dollar prize

A Regina sci-fi action film is hoping to cash in on a million-dollar opportunity.

Patient 62 is participating in the CineCoup Film Accelerator, which is the same national competition that Saskatchewan's WolfCop won in 2013.

Rick Anthony, the writer and producer of Patient 62, says he is hoping to build on the momentum WolfCop brought to local movies.

"There is a general air where people want to bring some film back to Saskatchewan and want to see it happen again," Anthony said.

He also said that support from the province will be a key to success in the CineCoup contest.

"We need a little bit of hometown help to get us advancing to the first place spot, which is where we want to be," Anthony said.

Patient 62 is currently in fourth place out of 75 films inCineCoup.
