Saskatchewan man jailed in global pedophile ring

A Saskatchewan man arrested in a worldwide child pornography sting has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.

A Saskatchewan man arrested in a worldwide child pornography sting has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.

David John Lapage, 68, pleaded guilty to possessing and sharing child pornography.

He was sentenced Wednesday in Fort Qu'Appelle.

Lapage was one of almost 200suspects arrested in 2009 by European police, in a global investigation into an alleged pedophile ring based in the Netherlands.

Europol, the European Union police agency, said the investigation identified and rescued 230 children in more than 30 countries.
