The Saskatchewan Roughriders are getting in on the Saskatchewan Fashion Weekfun. On Thursdaymorning the team unveiled new uniforms for the upcoming season.

"It feels great. The fit is great. Even the gloves, the cleats, they all feel really nice and feel good on the body," said Riders defensive lineman Justin Capicciotti.

Out with the black in with the Grey

The team made some minor changes, including removing all black and adding four stripes on the left side of the pants.

"We wanted to kind of tie-in the fans and some of our history, so we've added the four stripes to the left side of the pant and that represents the four Grey Cups and we hope to fill up the leg someday," said Mark Habicht the Roughriders director of retail operations.

Clean and simple

"We liked the idea of going back to a little bit more green and white focus," Habicht said. "We didn't want to start with a clean sheet, so we wanted to what we call evolve the uniform."

"We just looked at ways to tweak it. Kind of clean it up,make it simpler and we think better," Habicht said.

And the players seemto agree.

"I like the traditional look," Capicciotti said."I don't like to add too many things to try and get a flashy look going. I like the clean look. I like that they took out more things then added in."
