Despite the Saskatchewan Roughriders' losing record this year, it will still cost you more to watch them play next season.

The Riders have raised their ticket prices for next year.

Gregg Sauter, the Riders' Vice-President of Business, said season ticket holders will have to cough up between $1 and $5 more per ticket, per game, in 2016.

"We are seeing a bit of an increase there just to start being on par with the rest of the league," Sauter said.

Sauter said ticket prices are not based on team performance but rather a long-term business strategy.

"We've had the question, 'How do you feel about raising rates in a bad year on the field?' " Sauter said. "We don't look at our ticket pricing on a year-by-year basis."

Rider fans should plan for yet another increase in 2017 when the Riders move into the new Mosaic Stadium.

The most expensive single game ticket for the Roughriders not including the Labour Day Classic is $80.50. Here is how much it would cost for a top-priced sideline seat elsewhere in the CFL:

  • BC Lions: $84
  • Edmonton Eskimos: $85
  • Toronto Argonauts: $87
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats: $80-$95
  • OttawaRedblacks: $84-$115
  • Calgary Stampeders: $100
  • Winnipeg Blue Bombers: $95.75-$119.75
  • Montreal Alouettes: $105-125
