The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added four players in positions needing bolstering this season.

On Friday afternoon, the Riders announced they had signed receivers Shay Hodge and Jordan Reaves, as well as defensive backs Robert Sands and Marte Sears. Reaves is the only Canadian of the bunch.

Hodge comes to the Riders after floating around the NFL with numerous teams. The former University of Mississippi standout spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, and Cincinnati Bengals.

The six-foot-two-inch receiver also spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2013. Hodge remains the all-time leading receiver in Ole Miss history with 2,646 career yards.

Reaves has taken an interesting route to professional football. The huge, six-foot-four-inch receiver signed with Winnipeg in April 2015 before being released following the pre-season. Prior to joining the Bombers, Reaves spent five years playing basketball at the University of Brandon.

Sands played one game with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2014. The six-foot-four-inch defensive back also spent two seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sears, another towering defensive back standing six feet five inches, played two pre-season games with the Edmonton Eskimos last season.
