Saskatoon police track down, arrest escapees

The air support unit from the Saskatoon police service spotted the two escaped inmates, helping corrections staff members track them down and detain them.

Were it not for an eye in the sky, two escapees from Saskatoon's correctional centre mightstill be on the run.

But the air support unit from the Saskatoon police service managed to spot the two escaped inmates, helping corrections staff members track them down and detain them.

The two males, aged 20 and 23 years old,managed to scale a fence on the north side of the correctional centre.

The incident happened at approximately 1:57 p.m. CST on Sunday, the Saskatoon police reported.

After a foot pursuit, corrections staff detained the pair of escapees behind a north industrial business.

One of the two injured himself by scaling the fence; he was taken to hospital.

The pair were transported to theSaskatoon police servicedetention centre.

They'll be appearing in courton Monday to face charges of escapelawful custody.
