Undercover cops bust 9 alleged Native Syndicate gang members in Regina

After two months of "covert" investigation, Regina police arrested nine men on Friday.

Police said the investigation, called Project Shred, was a "direct result of a series of violent offences that occurred in Regina involving persons identified in drug trafficking activity."

Several of the nine men arrested are members of the Native Syndicate street gang, according to police. They are all between 18 and 40 years old.

All of the men who were arrested appeared in court on Monday. Police said 20 charges were read in court including robbery with violence, extortion and assault causing bodily harm.

Police collected several weapons and drugs while conducting the investigation:

• A machete
• Canadian money
• Fentanyl
• Cocaine
• Methamphetamine
• Morphine
• Marijuana

The investigation was done by the Regina Police's Street Gang Unit and Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team.
