A Saskatoon strip mall was evacuated Saturday morning after pressure from heavy snow collapsed part of the building's roof.

Fire crews responded to 3730 Diefenbaker Drive just before noon, where they found a portion of the roof had given way at The House Tap& Eatery.

The restaurant was unoccupied at the time of the collapse. No injuries were reported.

The rest of the mallwas evacuated as a safety precaution.

Officials said businesses will be closed until a structural assessment is done on the building by the owner and the structure is deemed safe.

The Heavy Urban Search and Rescue team helped firefighters shore up the damage to prevent further collapse.
