Heavy snow causes collapse of building in Melville, Sask.

Heavy snow on the roof causedthe collapse of awell-known building in downtown Melville Tuesday evening.

It happened around 7 p.m. CST at theformer Community Publishing building on Main Street andFourth Avenue.

No one was inside at the time.

People in town say the building was home to a hair salon and vacuum shop and was also used by Home Hardware for storage.

There have been several instances of roofs collapsing around Saskatchewan this winter because of heavy snow.

Earlier this month, the roof of abuilding in Saskatoon collapsed. No one was hurt.
