Stunning northern lights seen at Bulyea, Sask.

Parts of Saskatchewan got some stunning views of the northern lights overnight.

Notanee Bourassa photos shimmering displays

Saskatchewan isn't called "Land of Living Skies" for nothing.

Thanks to a particularly strong magnetic storm, parts of Saskatchewan got some stunning views of the northern lights overnight.

Among those who got an eyeful wasNotanee Bourassa,an amateur photographer and storm chaser who captured some brilliant images west of Bulyea, which is about 75 kilometres north of Regina.

Some of theworld's best sights of aurora borealis are right here in this province, Bourassa said.

"I just wanted to prove to people here that, hey, you don't have to book a trip to Alaska or go to Iceland or go to Norway," he said. "It's right here in Saskatchewan. You just have to know how to hunt it correctly."

Bourassa shot his photos early Tuesday morning, shortly after midnight.
