Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Ottawa Redblacks - Regina

Saturday, Sept. 19

While it's been a long, not-so-exciting season for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Green and White are looking for their second-straight win at home.

The 1-10 Riders host the 6-4 Redblacks at 7 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday.

Saskatchewan welcomes the return of quarterback Kevin Glenn, who hasn't played since suffering an injury on July 26.

International Red Panda Day - Saskatoon

Saturday, Sept. 19
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

One of Saskatoon's cutest and most eligible bachelors will have a lot of company on Saturday.

Saturday is International Red Panda day and the Saskatoon Zoo Society is celebrating Phoenix, the red panda currently living at the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo.

The event is free to attend and the zoo will be accepting donations for red panda conservation projects.

Visitors can meet Phoenix at 10:15 a.m. There will also be numerous activities and face-painting until noon.

Comic and Entertainment Expo - Saskatoon

Saturday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 20

If you see Spider-Man, Batman, Gandalf and every other fictional character imaginable walking around Saskatoon, this is probably why.

The Saskatoon Comic and Entertainment Expo is a weekend to celebrate all things comics, cosplay, pop culture, sci-fi, horror, cartoons and more.

It all takes place at Prairieland Park and expect a packed house this year with some big names paying a visit.

This year, William Shatner (Star Trek), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings) and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) will all be at the expo. So if you're a fan of Kirk or Pippin or Gus, this event is a must.

YXE Street Food & Music Festival - Saskatoon

Saturday, Sept. 19
11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Food trucks haven't been around Saskatoon very long, but this event is sure to bring out hundreds of hungry residents.

The YXE Street Food and Music Festival takes place as you might expect on the street. Vendors will line up on Spadina Crescent between Second and Third Avenue.

This year, there will be more than 20 mobile food options.

Prairie Games Expo VI - Regina

Saturday, Sept. 19
9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

You don't have to be at the cabin to enjoy board, card and war games.

Enthusiasts of all three and more are getting together for this annual event.

Whether you're just getting starting or an expert of all games, all skill levels are welcomed to join.

The Prairie Games Expo takes place at the Core Ritchie Centre (445 14th Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

35th Annual Terry Fox Run - Across Saskatchewan

Sunday, Sept. 20

An important event for many Canadians, the 35th Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research will take place across Saskatchewan and Canada on Sunday.

The family event is open for people wanting to run, walk, bike, skate, and rollerblade for cancer research.

In Regina, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The opening ceremonies start at 9:45 p.m.

In Saskatoon, registration is at 11 a.m. in Kiwanis Memorial Park. The run starts at noon.

Even if you're not taking part in the run, there will be a barbecue and children's area.

The Word on the Street - Saskatoon

Sunday, Sept. 20
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Saskatoon Comic Expo isn't the only thing bringing major names to the city this weekend.

This annual celebration of literacy is fun for the whole family.

Margaret Trudeau, Chef Michael Smith, best-selling author W.P. Kinsella, and CBC host and author Wab Kinew will all be there.

More than 30 other authors will be featured including Yann Martel, Guy Vanderhaeghe, Sharon Butala, Ernie Louttit, and Wes Funk.

It all gets underway from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Saskatoon surrounding City Hall.
