RCMP charge 2nd man with 1st-degree murder of Troy Napope

The RCMP have charged a second man with the first-degree murder of Troy Napope.

The RCMP havecharged a second man with the first-degree murder of Troy Napope, who was reported missing nine days after a car he had been using was foundburning in a grove of trees.

Napopewas 23 when he was last seen in May 2015after leaving a house party in Prince Albert, Sask.

The second accused is a 29-year-old Prince Albert manwho was known to Napope, as was the first person charged, a27-year-old man also charged with his first-degree murder.

The 29-year-old man had previously been charged with one countof arson and one count of forcible confinement in relation to Napope's death.

He appearedin court on those chargeson Feb. 26. Followingfurther investigation, RCMP laid the first-degree murder charge.

He appeared in provincial court in Prince Albert Tuesday morning on themurder charge.

The news release said that police don't believe any others played a role inNapope'sdeath.

A spokeswoman for theRCMPcould not confirm whether or notNapope'sbody had been recovered. She said the investigation is ongoing.
