University of Regina issues gastrointestinal illnesses warning

The University of Regina says it is seeing more cases of gastrointestinal illnesses on campus.

Anyone with nausea, vomiting or diarrhea is asked to stay home for 48 hours after recovering

The University of Regina is warning about an increase in gastrointestinal illnesses on campus.

The university said Friday it istaking the matter seriously and working with the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region in light of the increase in cases.

Extra cleaning by housekeeping and custodial staff is underway around campus to stop the illness from spreading.

People who have experienced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headaches are being askedto stay away from public places for 48 hours after their symptoms have cleared.

For people working where food is served, they are asked to stay home for 72 hours after recovering from symptoms.
