Wanted man arrested in northern Sask.

A wanted man who had been serving a prison sentence for manslaughter is back in custody after being arrested on a northern Saskatchewan First Nation.

A wanted man who had been serving a prison sentence for manslaughter is back in custody after being arrested on a northern Saskatchewan First Nation.

RCMP took Michael Brian Bearboy, 41, into custody on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation at Loon Lake onTuesday night.

A Canada-wide warrant had been issued for Bearboy for being unlawfully at large, after he left a halfway house in Edmonton on Feb. 26.

Bearboy had been serving a seven-year sentence for manslaughter in connection with the death of a 36-year-old man in Loon Lake in 2006.

RCMP members from Loon Lake, Pierceland, and Meadow Lake,as well asa dog team, were involved infinding andarresting Bearboy, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.

Loon Lake is about 300 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
