Warm weather breaks records across Saskatchewan on Saturday

Record high temperatures were recorded in Regina, Elbow, Last Mountain Lake, Lucky Lake, Maple Creek, and Val Marie.

A warm flow of Pacific air combined with little or no snow meant several warm weather records were broken in Saskatchewan on Saturday, according to Environment Canada.

People brought out their golf clubs in Regina where the 29-year record high temperature of 16 C was beat with a beautifully warm 17.3 C.

The 14.2 C temperature in Elbow, Sask., crushed the village'sprevious record from 1968 of 10.6 C. Elbow is locatednear LakeDiefenbaker.

Records were also broken at Last Mountain Lake, Lucky Lake, Maple Creek, and Val Marie.

Environment Canada said more record breaking temperaturesare possible for Sunday with highs expected again in the mid-to-high teens.
