Who got the most rain? Environment Canada releases latest totals

Estevan, Sask., got a break from the weatherman Monday and was spared the torrential rainfall it saw on the weekend but other communities got hammered instead.

Twenty-four communities received more than 50 millimetres of rain in the 32 hours that ended 8 a.m. CST Tuesday.

The rainiest spot was Bjorkdale, a villageof about 200 located250 kilometres east of Saskatoon. It receivedabout 98millimetres, according to Environment Canada.

(Watrousoriginallyhad a report of88.9 mm, but thattotalwas later downgradedto 62.3 mm when a different rain gauge was used.)

A wide area of Saskatchewan continued to be under a rainfall warning on Tuesday.

In Estevan, a major cleanup was underway after it received as much as 130 millimetres in some areas.

States of emergency were declared in Arborfield and Carrot River.
