A collisionthat killed a younggirl riding a scooter is still under analysis, the Saskatoon Police Service says.

Rochelle Dubois has identified the victim as her nine-year old daughterBaeleigh Emily Maurice, according to CTVNews.

The collision happened at about 9 a.m. CST last Thursday, according to police. A Ford pickup truck driven by an unidentified 27-year-old womancollided with Mauriceon the 600 block of 33rd Street W, although other specifics of the incident remain unclear.

Mauricewas taken to hospital and died there.

In an update provided on Monday, the Saskatoon Police Service said its traffic analyst unit is combing data collected from the scene to determine what factorscaused the collision.

"Traffic collision investigations are highly specialized and involve a variety of investigative techniques includingreconstruction, witness interviews and forensic laboratory testing," the update said.

The police service warned such techniquescan result in a lengthy investigation.

"At this time the traffic section isnot able to provide a timeline as to when a conclusion will be reached. Updates will be provided when information becomes available."
