The family of a woman who received an unforgettable marriage proposal Tuesday night is now awaiting the outcome of her surgery.

Tanya Procyshyn is at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, where surgeons have removeda cancerous brain tumour, diagnosed a few weeks ago. Her surgery ended late Wednesday afternoon, and as of 6 p.m. CST, her family was still waiting for her to wake up.

The couplehavethree children.

Her fiance Pablo Benitez arranged the proposal of her dreams at a recent Ed Sheeran concert in Saskatoon.

Benitez met Sheeran at a private function Monday night and told the musician his story.

Sheeran made sure the couple got into the concert, arranging front row seats for them.

And when he played her favourite song Thinking Out Loud, Benitez proposed. And then he tweeted her response, "she said yes."

Her sister Amanda Bruneauwas also at the concert, although in a seat considerably distant from the couple. Bruneau just wanted to be there for the joyous moment, having been tipped off by Pablo. It was a surprise to Tanya, although she had been waiting for a proposal.

Bruneau said it has special meaning, given her sister's medical condition.

"It gives her something to look forward to, something to fight for, just bring her some happiness through all of this that she'll be going through," Bruneau said.

It's special to the whole family, she added.

"It meant everything. When he told me that he was going to do it, I just cried because I just want her to be happy and that's all we all want," she said.

As for Sheeran's gesture, she described it as a generous move.

"He seems like a very giving man," she said.

The family is also expressing gratitude to the doctors and staff at RUH.
