Alleged human trafficker Mali Jean denied bail in Saskatoon

An alleged human trafficker from Quebec was denied bail at a court hearing in Saskatoon Wednesday.

An alleged human trafficker from Quebec was denied bail at a court hearing in Saskatoon on Wednesday afternoon.

Mali Jean is charged with a string of offences including exploiting twowomen under Ottawa's prostitution laws, and assaulting one of them with a weapon.

He is also accused of breaching a court order to stay out of Saskatchewan.

Jean has been ordered notto have contact with his two victims, both women.

He is due back in court on Sept. 29.
