Battle of the biceps: Arm wrestling championships held in Saskatoon

Men and women from across the country spent the Canada Day long weekend in Saskatoon for the Canadian Arm Wrestling Championships.
Spanning Friday to Sunday, competitors representing Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Quebec and B.C. put their best arm forward with thehopeof walking away champions.

Vince Squires was one of many pumpedup men and women representingSaskatchewan. Originally from Thompson, Man., Squires now calls Moose Jaw, Sask., home.
He's competing in his second Canadian championship and he told CBC News arm wrestling isn't just a friendly game to test one's strengthit's a serious sport requiring a lot of training.

"It takes a lot of commitment to train, lots of table time, lots of gym time,"Squires said.
"Lots of practicing with your team, learning the techniques, learning the set up on the table.It takes a lot."
The 2016 championships were held at the Cosmopolitan Senior Citizens Centre on 11th Street E. in Saskatoon.
