Inquest called into death of Austin Eaglechief after Saskatoon police chase
Eaglechief died after truck crash near airport
A coroner in Saskatoon is leading an inquest into the death of Austin Eaglechief.
The 22-year-old died after crashing a stolen truck near the Saskatoon airport during a high-speed chase with city police.
Eaglechiefwas in the vehicle being pursued by the Saskatoon Police Service on June 19, 2017.
The vehicle crashed and police found the driver was not breathing. An officer beganCPR until medical personnel arrived a short time later and confirmed that the driver was dead, according to a news release.
Tim Hawrylukwill be the coroner. Five days have been set for the inquest.
The inquest is set to begin March 25.
