With many children going back to school today, police across the province are reminding drivers to slow down.

With excited children charging down the sidewalks today, it's entirely possible young people won't be stopping at corners and looking both ways before crossing.

Many municipalities in the province have different speed rules around school zones, In Saskatoon, drivers are expected to slow down to 30 km/h from September until June, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In Regina, a 40 km/h restriction is in place all year long, from 8 a.m to 10 p.m.

It appears speeding in school zones continues to be a problem across the province. For example, according to SGI, 21,543 school zone speeding tickets were mailed out between March 2015 to February 2016 in Regina.
