For the last five years, Community Learners High School has worked with at-risk youth to give them a chance at a better life.

Now, it has a new home the Pleasant Hill bakery.

"It has been amazing to see the building change over the past few months," said Director of Education Keith Jorgenson. " We knew the building had good bones. We knew that it had the potential to be more than a parking lot."

The bakery, which had provided fresh bread and donuts to the community for generations, has now been fully converted into a school.

A century-old oven has now been converted into a computer lab. The building also has a commercial cooking space, graphic arts lab and automotive repair shop to be used for vocational training.

The school had been in rented space before this, and now students and staff arehappy the school hasa permanent home.

Community Learners High School has also converted the bakery's front section into a low-cost cafeteria for local people.
