CAA's Worst Roads Contest starts again this year

Spring is in the air, and that means one thing pothole season has arrived.

CAA Saskatchewan has launched its annual worst roads campaign. Annoyed drivers from across the province are being encouraged to nominate their least-favourite highway.

People are encouraged to nominate roads with potholes, cracks and crumbling pavement.

Last year's 'winner', Highway 354 near Dilke, Sask., suffered from severely broken pavement and soft spots. At the time, the mayor called the road, "just about impassible."

Here's a list of the contest's worst roads over the past several years:

  • 2015Highway 354 near Dilke
  • 2014Highway 24 near Leoville
  • 2013Highway 123 near Cumberland House
  • 2012Highway 22 near Earl Grey

Last year, CAA received more than 4,500 votes in the contest.
