A new lead may be developing in the case of a woman who has been missing from Saskatoon for almost a year.

Earlier this week, the Calgary Police Service said a woman matching the description of Mackenzie Lee Trottier had been spotted several times in the city's downtown.

"[We] are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact police", said Cst. Gord Fraser of the Calgary Police Service Missing Persons Team in the post on Facebook.

"It has been almost a year since Mackenzie was last seen and her family is deeply concerned for her wellbeing."

Last month, Trottier's family organized a poster campaign to restart efforts to find her. Saskatoon Police also asked for the public's help in finding the woman.

Trottier was 22 when she went missing on Dec. 21, 2020. She's five-feet tall and weighs 145 pounds. At the time, she had medium-length blonde hair that was shaved on one side and has a tattoo on her right ankle.

In February, Saskatoon police released an image of a man who may know more about the case. The man is described as five-feet-three-inches tall, and a composite sketch of the man has been released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatoon or Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.
