Competitors race the clock in charity ice cream challenge

If you think you can eat 14 scoops of ice cream, with toppings, bananas, whipped cream, and a cherry, then the Dog's Breakfast Challenge is for you.

On Sunday, Saskatoon's Homestead Ice Cream willhost thecharity ice cream eating competition.The goal is to eat the mounds of ice creamfrom itsdog-dish-serving-bowlas quickly as possible.

Currently, the record is two minutes and thirty six seconds.Becky Soy,manager ofHomestead Ice Cream,was watching when that record was set.

"He just shoved it and swallowed. He didn't even chew. He is also a professional hot dog-eater, so he has some experience with professional eating, I guess," Soy said."Brain freeze, I don't know how he got around it. I guess he finished,before it set in."

The money raised at the ice cream eating challenge will go to the New Hope Dog Rescue.

"It isvery interesting," Soy said."Some make it through some don't."

The Dog's Breakfast Challenge will take place at 2 p.m.. on Sunday.
