Driver of stolen Cadillac attempts to evade Saskatoon police, gets caught on foot

Police in Saskatoon arrested a man Saturday afternoon after he evaded police in a stolen blue Cadillac for nearly 20 minutes.

Police in Saskatoon arrested a man Saturday afternoon after he evaded police in a stolen blue Cadillac for nearly 20 minutes.

The 39-year-old man was wanted on an outstanding warrant from outside the city, says Staff Sgt.GrantObstof the Saskatoon Police Service.

Police began tracking his movements at 4:35 p.m. CST on 2nd Avenue North.

The service'sair support unittook over tracking him. At one point, the man drove 100 kilometres an hour over the Preston Avenue exit from the Circle Drive North bridge.

The man ultimately abandoned the vehicle on 109 Street. A few minutes later, at around 4:53 p.m., police on the ground apprehended him.

He's been charged withpossession of stolen property and evading police.

The man will not be named until he appears in court, said Obst.
