The trend has now made its way to salons in Saskatchewan.

Terry Swan, a hair stylist in Saskatoon, said silver is what pink and blue have been in the past.

While it may be trendy, Swan said it comes with a cost it's time consuming.

Firstthe hair first has to be bleached white, then colour is added to make it look grey. She noted that it'shard to do with long hair, and doesn't suit some skin tones.

I mean, it's just a matter of time whether it's artificial or not.-Sara Armstrong, Regina woman

Sara Armstrong of Regina chose to go grey because she believes it workswell with her skin.

"Cool tones look better on me than those golden blondes," said Armstrong.

Her natural hair is an ash colour, and shestarted playing with a silvery, lavenderhue several years ago, by leaving in purple conditioner. But she has decided to go more fully grey.

"Grey hair is something that everyone in my family has already gotten. Like very young, everyone goes grey. I mean, it's just a matter of time whether it's artificial or not," said Armstrong.

"My grandpa has this beautiful full head of hair, and it's just white as snow, and I think it looksabsolutely gorgeous."
