As the community of La Loche, Sask.continues to mourn, the liquor stores will remain closed.

While the northern Saskatchewan village has recently gained international attention as the site of a school shooting that killed four people, La Loche has been plagued by youth suicide, violence and addiction for decades.

In the wake of the recent tragedy, the mayor and council have requested the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) liquor store remain closed for the entire week.

In a statement released by the Government of Saskatchewan, SLGAsaid they "will respect the town's wishes and remain closed this week."
