Mendel Conservatory to close this winter for renovations

Saskatoon's hidden tropical paradise is closing next month for renovations.

For years, the conservatory at the Mendel Building on Spadina Crescent has offered a steamy, verdant getaway in thewinter.

It officially closes Oct. 1.This month's display includes Celosia, Martha Washington Geraniums, Angelonia, Zonal Geraniums, Coleus, and ornamental peppers.

It will re-open in late 2018.
